

Dude Burns, 69 of The Frogtown Community left this world to be with our Lord, and Savior and his wife, Sharon Friday, August 10, 2012 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was born September 7, 1942 in Hartford to Clara Mae Cox and Mickey Burns. He was a retired rock mason and millwright, a veteran of the U.S. Navy, a member of Hartford Lodge #609 F&AM, and of the Christian faith.
He was preceded in death by his wife of forty years, Sharon, his father, Mickey Burns, and one brother, Jimmy Frank Burns.
Survivors include his mother, Clara Mae Dow of Arkoma; one daughter, Mickey Mendenhall of The Frogtown Community; two sons, Calvin Leonard of Brentwood and Vernie Burns of Midland; two brothers, Billy Bob Burns of West Fork and Larry Don Burns of Midland; ten grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside service will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 14 at Hartford Memorial Park under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Hartford Assembly of God Church.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Don Burns, Jeffery Burns, Billy Floyd Burns, Vernie Burns, Paul Bell and Kevin Boyd. Honorary pallbearers will be Carol Adams and Calvin Leonard.
