Edith Lane, 84, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2023 in her home. She was retired from the child nutrition department at Fort Smith Public Schools and was a member of the First Baptist Church at Jenny Lind.
She is survived by one son, ReGuy Lane and wife, Jutta of Germany; one daughter, Mary Zirbel and husband, David of Greenwood; one brother, Johnny Cockrall and wife, Melba of Fort Smith; five grandchildren, Michael, Chris, Dominik, Zach and Kassandra and eight great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, AD Lane; one daughter, Loanna Amos; one grandson, Daniel, two brothers and one sister.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Thursday, March 9 at the First Baptist Church in Jenny Lind with interment at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Wednesday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Drake Lane, Randy Lane, Shawn Lane, Christopher Lane, Dominik Lane and Zachary Zirbel.
