So sorry to read this but thankful for the example he was to so many. We were classmates at McLeod High School and lose contact over the years with those we graduated with. I remember Wesley as always being easy-going and strong in his living.

I'm so thankful that I got to know Mr. Hogue throughout my 3 years at Chaffin. He was so sharp and had an unbelievable knack for simplifying complex concepts. Looking back on it, it's hard to believe that he was willing to spend so much extra time with the Mathcounts team. Beneath the legendary gruff exterior -- and who wouldn't have a gruff exterior dealing with junior high school kids every day -- he was a kind, gentle, loving man. He made a big mark on my life, and on the lives of many, many others. RIP

I'm so sorry for your loss. Mr. Hogue was probably my toughest teacher at Chaffin, but also one of my favorites. I will be praying peace and comfort for your family.

I will always remember Mr. Hogue. He was one of my favorite teachers going through school. I will always remember spending hours in his classroom preparing for math counts and state algebra competitions. He told us the first day of class that there was the right way, the wrong way and Hogue's way. I am sorry for your loss and please know it is heavens gain. I always wanted to tell him thank you so please allow me to tell you his family how much of a difference he made in my life.

To the entire Hogue family, I am deeply sorry for your loss. I remember you all fondly from my school days. Having lost my own father 6 years ago- I can tell you a part of you will always miss his presence. Share your memories often and with much love. We will see our loved ones by and by. My prayers and thoughts are with you.

I had Mr. Hogue as a teacher at Chaffin twice. I will never forget the first thing he said to our class on the first day of school in 7th grade. He said, "I am like E. F. Hutton. When I talk, people listen." We were all a little bit scared. A few weeks later, he caught me chewing gum and made me write a paper on the invention of gum. I really enjoyed Mr. Hogue as a teacher, but he also was a great man full of integrity and faith. I can't speak for all of his students, but he certainly made a difference in my life. I am now a pastor, and I owe it to men like Mr. Hogue who God put in my life.

Goldie, I am so sorry for your loss.  Bro. Wesley will surely be missed around Faith Baptist Church, it's a loss for us all.  He was a great man.  Just by being around him I could tell he loved the Lord, his church, and his family.  I loved his sense of humor.  I remember several things he's said over the years at church and they still bring a smile or laugh to me.  He was always so supportive of our youth and willing to help out in all their endeavors. Your grandchildren spent lots of time here with you both and so I got to know them thru Sunday School class.  They are great kids, I truly enjoyed them.  The stories they would share and just being here with you all was a great tribute to what great Grandparents you both were.  You are in my prayers and Warren and I are here for you if there is anything you need.  Love you!

I'm very sorry to hear of Wesley's passing!  He was a wonderful man.  I remember that Wesley and Goldie were my first band parent presidents when I moved to Greenwood as band director and I enjoyed getting to know them. Good times!  The family photos are awesome; a wonderful tribute to a man who loved his family!  Lynn, I'm sorry that we will not be able to be at the visitation or funeral; Brenda and I are leaving today on vacation. We would love to see you and your beautiful family.
