Fred Nielsen

Fred Nielsen, 72, of Midland, Arkansas passed away Monday, March 11, 2013 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was a disabled veteran of the U.S. Navy and the Vietnam War and was a member of Tyro Community Church. He loved the Lord and had a heart to help people.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2013 at the Tyro Community Church. The family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Friday at the family home.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley; one son, Paul Dean Nielsen of Midland, one daughter, Bessie Nielsen; two brothers, Joe Nielsen and Chris Nielsen both of Booneville; two sisters, Frances Kinard of Georgia and Synthia Nielsen of Fayetteville; one sister-in-law, Dorcus Thomas and husband, Harley of Fort Smith; one brother-in-law, Buford Bishop of Prairie Creek; three granddaughters, Abigale Nielsen of Boise, Idaho, Beth Pearson of Japan and Lillian Williams; one great grandchild and several nieces, nephews and friends.
