Gregory John Gomes

Gregory John Gomes, 71, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Saturday, January 30, 2021 in his home. He was a retired chemical engineer at Standard Oil Company and a U.S. Coast Guard veteran of the Vietnam War.

A private memorial service will be Friday, February 5 at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.

He is survived by two sons, Gregory John Gomes, Jr. and Raymond Gomes; two brothers, Bill Gomes and Gary Gomes, Sr; two sisters, Susan Smith and Mary Evonne Decker; four grandchildren and three great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Elaine Gomes, daughter, Tiffany Gomes Decker and two dogs, Charlie Dog and Bubba Dog.
