

Jacqueline “Jackie” Marion Ridling, 83 of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Saturday, November 22, 2014 in Fort Smith. She was a graduate of Waldron High School and Henderson State University. She was a former professed Religious Sister at Saint Scholastica, where she was a teacher. She moved to Mexico City for sixteen years before returning to Arkansas to teach Spanish at Van Buren High School. Jackie was an eighteen year survivor of breast cancer. She volunteered for the Good Samaritan Clinic, Department of Human Services and the Sebastian County Court System by translating Spanish. She was also a host at the Hampton Inn. She was a member of the Fort Smith Chorale. Jackie had a beautiful voice, face and soul that lived and loved beyond compare.
Jackie is survived by four sisters, Judi Deason of Fort Smith, AR, Jean Padilla of Santa Fe, NM, Marie Beaty of Savannah, GA and Serena Holt of Plano, TX; twenty-one nieces and nephews and several great and great great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, Little and Lena Ridling; brothers, Tommy and Joe Ridling; sister, Ruth Bliss and a nephew, Doug Beaty.
Memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, November 29, 2014 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood.
