James Arthur Woods, 71, of Huntington, Arkansas died Tuesday, April 24, 2018 in Fort Smith. James was born September 30, 1946 in Abbott, Arkansas. He was a retired MSgt. in the Air National Guard. He served 4 years in the Air Force and 30 years in the 188th Tactical Fighter Wing.
Funeral service will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, April 27 at Fellowship Baptist Church in Witcherville and interment with military honors at the US National Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Thursday, April 26 from 1 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 to 8 p.m.
He was preceded in death by his parents Cecil and Tracy Woods, and one sister Carol Gilbreath. He is survived by his wife Carol; two sons, Bryan Woods of Clarksville and Don Edwards of Greenwood; two daughters, Stephanie Edwards Elmore of Huntington and Charla Mays of Mansfield; one sister, Carmen Nelson of Charlo, Montana; eleven grandchildren, Ashley Woods, Haley Woods, Jessica Hutson, Jaden Elmore, Seth Mays, Lane Mays, Brandon Edwards, Jacob Edwards, MacKenzie Edwards, Wesley Rylee and Zachary Rylee and three great-grandchildren, Connor, August and Sonny.
Bro. Gary Martin of Fellowship will officiate. Pallbearers will be Seth Mays, Lane Mays, Brandon Edwards, Jacob Edwards, Phillip Gilbreath and Tim Bair.
