I have so many fond memories of Jerry.  He was one of the kindest men I have ever met.  He always thought of everyone else and never wanted to be a burden on anyone even though I know there were many times he did not feel good. Jerry was also hilarious and I never could leave his house without laughing or having a smile on my face.   He would always call to make sure we knew there was a storm coming or to make sure we made it home safely if it was dark out.  He always checked on us if we were not feeling well.  Or just to talk about how good or bad the Razorbacks were doing.  He was a mediator and always wanted to make sure Rachel and I would just “try to not to fight and get along”.  He always would encourage us to watch his religious shows because he wanted us to be prepared for heaven.  The thing is he was always there for us and cared when no one else in the whole world did, Jerry did.
He loved Bucky with all his heart and you could not spend any amount of time with Jerry and not know that.  I am not sure what Jerry would have not done without Bucky over the years because he was his whole world and Bucky was a great son.
  But the biggest thing I probably learned from Jerry is family and love is not defined only by blood and DNA.  I loved this man as much as I have ever loved anyone I am related to.  And this love was not because I was related to him, but because of the person he was.  And although I will miss him horribly and this world will be a much lonely and sadder place without him in it.  The comfort I have is to know he is back in the arms of his beloved Patsy and I can only imagine that big smile on his face when he reunited with her.

Dear my one and only papa I ever had. I will miss you so much. Your kindness and love gave me another outlook on life. I will always remember everything you did for me. Your were also papa to my little girl Hope who is 5 yrs. Old. She loved you soon much to. You will always be remembered.Love Rachel and Hope



Graveside Service

Mr. Buckner is survived by two sons, Jerry Buckner, Jr and Chuck Buckner, eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Pat Buckner.
