John was one of the nicest men you would ever meet! He loved his family and his country! He came to our Bakery and always visited and bought everyone donuts! He was always a joy and would light up the room! I always loved to hear his stories! My thoughts and prayers to his family! I was so blessed to have known him! Fly high and rest in peace!

I simply Loved this Special Man,  Veteran and Friend .  He kept me supplied in Hershey Candy Bars upon each visit to our Clinic. Always a Smile, kind Word and a story about the Service, his Employment or Family.  I'm so sad at the hearing of his passing.  He was Loved and brought smiles & joy to many.  To the Family, my condolences and I'm Blessed to have known him for Several years at the VA. With love and prayers to you all!❤

My heart goes out to Richard, David and Judy, as well as the extended family.
I think Uncle Johnny was an amazing person.  I admired him so much.  He loved his family and he dedicated his whole life to caring for his family.  I don't know anyone who has done more for his family than Uncle Johnny.  He is well respected in the community and I am very proud to have had him for an uncle.  I called Uncle Johnny occasionally and he was always upbeat and seemed glad to hear from me.  Last week I had thought I needed to call him and of course we get side-tracked because we get involved in other things.  Now I have to live with the regret that I didn't make that call.
I pray for all of you as you have lost a great father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Bro. Johnny Risner was a patriot if there ever was one. He was a joy to be around and it was a privilege to have been his Pastor at one time. He will indeed be missed by so very many. I am so very thankful for Bro. Johnny's services to each of us. Our prayers are with the family.

Oh how I loved it when Mr. John would come into Walmart.  U would stand and talk with him for a couple of hours and exchange stories.  He always brightened my day when I saw him coming down the aisle towards me.  He touched so many of us in Walmart.  He will be greatly missed.  Godspeed Mr. John.  I love you dearly.  Thank you for making my days better with your love.

One of my favorite customers from CV's!!!  Always wanted to know how "Smiley" was, how my boys were doing and give me a hug!!! He was a sweetheart!!  I am lucky to have known him!!  But I know he is Heaven now with his beautiful wife!!  He was a Blessing to Greenwood.

John was always such a sweetheart. He shopped at CV's and would always come in and "joke around" with all the cashiers/checkers. He would always ask me how I was doing and he would always go visit with the elderly at Pink Bud nursing home.  I am truly grateful for having known this wonderful man. I know he is happy to finally be Home with his wife whom he missed so much.  Till we meet again! Love you John!

One of my all time heroes!  I will never forget his faithful care of his precious Beulah and how he honored his vows in hard times. I’ve thought of him so many times. God bless this family. Heaven got a little sweeter for me today

Will always cherish the way he came to nursing home 2-3 x daily to ensure Beulah was fed and cared for. Will miss sharing gardening stories, hearing his army tales, visiting 1-2 x weekly to " check up on everybody" when he didn't come to visit for several days, one of us would call to check on him. Will miss him dearly

I really enjoyed John's visits even after Beulah passed away.. He was a very sweet man. He would always stop by my office for a hug and sit and talk about his service in the military or his children. He will be greatly missed by many. Rest in peace. Prayers for the family.

Mr. Risner is survived by two sons, Richard Risner of Huntington and David Risner of Fort Smith; one daughter, Judy Roberts of Fort Smith; six grandchildren, ten great grandchildren and one great great grandchild. He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Risner and one son, Kenny Risner.
