John Wakefield Rogers, 69, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, November 25, 2020 in Mercy Hospital, right before midnight. He was born January 7, 1950. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, proudly serving in the U.S. Navy and retired from the Department of Corrections for the State of Washington.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Deborah Jo Rogers. He is survived by his six children, Maria E. Smith, Laura E. Smith, Loyal G. Smith, Michael W. Smith, Allen Smith and Trent Reid, his grandsons, Joshua Smith, Marty Smith, Patrick Smith, Evan Smith and Draco Hone and his two sisters and their families.
Burial will be at the U.S. National Cemetery in Fort Smith under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. A memorial service will be announced at a later date.
