Johnny R. Turner, 73 of Fort Smith, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2015 in a Fort Smith hospital. He was retired Vice President of Arkhola Sand and Gravel, veteran of the U.S. Navy and attended Grace Community Church.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, May 16 at Grace Community Church with burial at Dayton Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Friday from 1 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 – 8 p.m.
He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Ann Turner of the home; one son, Michael Turner of Fort Smith; one daughter, Lisa Farnam of Fort Smith; three sisters, Joy Chesser of Clarksville, Carolyn Smedley of Huntington, Tammy Ferzill of Lavaca; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Paul Childress, Troy Holloway, Jeff Williams, Mike Bailey, Darin Hunter, and Michael Dugan. Honorary pallbearers will be A.L. Campbell, Bill McCorkle, J.C. Ray, Jay Brandes, Everett Buckner, Rick Osburn and Andy Greenwood.
