

Kenneth Meeks passed away in his home in Fort Smith, on Monday, December 16, 2013. He was born April 7, 1930 in Charleston, Arkansas to Willie and Effie Meeks. Kenneth was retired from Ayers Furniture Company and paper boy for the Times Record for 12 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; also by a brother, Stacy Meeks; a sister, Rhea Duren and a baby daughter, Verna Gail Meeks.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday, December 19, 2013 at Glendale Baptist Church in Booneville with burial at Glendale Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Wednesday from 1 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends form 5-7 p.m.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Carolyn Meeks of the home; a daughter, Sherry Dix and husband James; son, Gary Meeks and wife Diana; one grandson, Mitchell Rockwood; two granddaughters, Selena and Whitney Meeks, all for Ft Smith; two sons, Kenneth Wayne Meeks and William Earl Meeks of Boonville and two sisters, Theda Wilson and husband Homer of Booneville, and Adilene Higgins and husband Jerry of Monticello
Pallbearers will be Gary Meeks, Mitchell Rockwood, James Dix, and Michael Wilson.
