She was a dear friend and co-worker at UAFS for many years.  I miss her.  To the girls and Matthew, she loved you dearly.  She was a good mother and grandmother.  God bless!  Rest easy, she is walking on those golden streets and no pain or sickness resides in heaven.

I worked with Linda for many years at Westark college and Leader University of Arkansas Fort Smith. She was a fantastic person, professional colleague, and a wonderful friend during all those years. She always did everything she could to help you in anyway possible. My blessings to the family and my heart felt sadness at her passing. Roger Young

My Best Friend, My Person, My Hero!

When I think of my mom, the first words that come to mind are Independent, Fierce, and Stubborn.  My mom was the strongest person I have and will ever know.  She showed me what it was to be a strong woman, mom, and daughter, and I hope that I can live up to the legacy she leaves behind.

My brother, sister, and I were her everything.  She did anything and everything it took for us to have the best childhood imagined.  She never sat around and whined or complained.  She did what had to be done.  

When her grandchildren were born, she spoiled them to the hilt, telling me that they were only little once and that she fully intended to spoil them rotten.  However, she wasn’t just a source of fun. She was also extremely protective. I’ll never forget one time Hunter had to go to the hospital for pneumonia. After I called her to tell her what was going on, NOTHING was going to stop her from coming to the hospital and checking on her baby boy.  

In February 2018, our world was rocked when she was diagnosed with Stage 4 Breast cancer.  I sat in the doctor’s office with her and not once did her strength waiver.  She remained independent during her entire battle with cancer.  The last week has been the hardest thing I have experienced, and we all channeled her strength to navigate her final days.

So, as my mom always said, at times driving me crazy, “I’m going to pull up my big girl panties” and continue to put family first and live life with the precious memories I have of her. 

Beloved cousin, I shall miss you. Always so steadfast and beautiful. You can smile about a job well done-your light shines in your beautiful children. Rest in peace. Until we meet again.....

Praying for strength , comfort and peace at this difficult time.  I was blessed to know and work with Linda.  We worked in different areas of the UAFS campus and did not often have a chance to spend time together but it was always enjoyable when we could. 
 When she retired, she left a large hole on the UAFS campus.  She is missed!

My deepest condolences to the whole family on the loss of your beloved Linda.  You all are  in our prayers for comfort and peace at this difficult time, especially Matt,  MaryKim and their family.  Her influence and love is evidenced by her remarkable children and grandchildren.  May her memories light your way forward. 


I always enjoyed working with Linda. She was always so pleasant. Even as she got sick I never heard her complain.  She loved her family and always bragged about her grandkids! Anytime I talked with her other phone she would say "OK kiddo I'll talk to you later ". 

Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

My sincere condolences on the passing of my treasured friend, Linda. We started as just coworkers sharing the same lunch break and soon became friends. Throughout the 10 plus years we were there for each other during the loss of both parents, grandkids games and graduations. Our friendship and conversations, I'll hold dear to my heart. She taught me such gallent strength and I choose to always remember her courage, humor and grace.

My dear sweet neighbor Linda of 20+ years. 
She was quiet and kept to herself most of the time but on occasions when we did visit we never failed  to talk about how wonderful our kids were and as they grew and moved out then we started talking  about our grandkids and how perfect they are. She was always working in her yard and it showed,  she always had the prettiest yard.  She will certainly be missed. We love you Linda. 

Catherine, Jackie, and Matthew:  What can I say?  I worked side by side with Linda in the old Westark College Word Processing Department for 13 years. I've known her since 1987.  We helped one another thru happy and tough times, frustrations, births, deaths, marriages, sickness, and retirement.  She was a good and caring friend, and I'll always treasure that.  We kept up with one another all these years.  She loved her children--they always came first, and she came second.  Rest assured she is not sick anymore!  She won the battle over cancer! And even though she is not here on earth now, treasure your many memories of her.  I saw you all grow up and have families of your own.  She was proud of all of you. Mrs. Maness is survived by two sisters, Charla Bolen and Joanne McGriff; one brother, Jay Gasaway; two daughters, Catherine Ollivier and Jacqueline Humphries; one son, Matthew Harp and five grandchildren, Hunter, Hannah, Dylan, Mackenzie and Ophelia.
