Born on June 8,1940 in Camden, Arkansas. Lowell was the son of Bert and Theodosia Heldebrand. He grew up in Camden and later built a life in Houston, Texas and retired in Mansfield, Arkansas. His life was centered around God, family, integrity, and hard work.
Lowell was a devoted husband to Sandra (Sandy) and loving father to Krista and Laura and his grandchildren. He will be remembered for his kind heart, humble ways, hard work, integrity, and gentle caring spirit.
Lowell made a lasting impact in the United States Army. While in active duty he served in the Vietnam War. After active duty he continued his service in the Army Reserves retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. While he continued with the Army Reserve, he was an accountant at Marathon Oil Company, where he worked for more than 25 years. He was known not only for his dedication and skill, but also for his kindness and ethics.
Outside of work, he enjoyed building and working with his hands (i.e. furniture, lawn mowers, cars, or just anything that needed repairing), volunteering for the fire department, serving at church, and spending time and enjoying his family.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Heldebrand (60 years July 2, 2025) his children Krista (Jim) Garrett and Laura (Keith, former son in law) Morrison. Grandchildren, Will, David, Katheryn, Elizabeth Garrett and Austin (Rebecca) and Kaitlyn Morrison. Siblings, Jim (Juanelle) Heldebrand and Evelyn (Tommy) Woods. Nephews and Nieces, Karen Newell, Carol Brown, Donna Ambler, Janet Hofman, John Parker, Michael Heldebrand and Steven Heldebrand and their spouses and families. Preceded in death by Parents, Bert and Theodosia Heldebrand and Siblings, Peggy Dortch, Gwen DuBois, Bernerd Heldebrand and Betty Parker.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, June 25 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel, 137 N Main St, Greenwood, Arkansas 72936. There will be no graveside service at this time. All who knew and loved Lowell are welcome to attend and celebrate his life.
Lowell, your memory will forever remain in our hearts. You will be deeply missed but never forgotten. We are encouraged to know you are in His presence, happy and healthy.
