

Lynn Oran Johnson, Sr., 87 of Westside, Huntington, Arkansas passed away Wednesday February 4, 2015 in his home. He was born April 15, 1927 in Pennington, Arkansas. Lynn married the love of his life, Mallie Johnson on November 3, 1949 in Charleston, Arkansas. He had a distinguished military career of 22 years and 7 months, serving during World War II and the Korean War. Upon retiring from the U.S. Army on October 30, 1965, he and his wife, Mallie owned numerous businesses in the Mansfield/Huntington area. He also worked for the Arkansas Highway Department and was a member of the Sebastian County Quorum Court from 10years.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the Mansfield First Baptist Church with burial at Huntington Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Friday from 1 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 – 8 p.m.
He is survived by his son, Lynn Johnson, Jr. and wife, Sandra; one daughter, Eva Hubbard and husband, Kim; two grandchildren, Amy Healy and husband, Philip and Lance Martin and wife, Beci; four great grandchildren, Sean Imgrund, Brayden Harris, Avarie Juiles Martin and Grayson David Martin; siblings, Buster Johnson, Aaron Johnson, Toby Johnson, Wilma Jean Green, Nada Wilburn, Fran Russom, Lo Andrews, Laveda Crisher and Betty Addington; and a beloved friend, Betty Wilson. He was preceded in death by parents, John Walter and Minnie Eva Johnson; his wife of 49 years, Mallie Johnson and siblings, Larry Johnson and Margaret Jane Evins.
Pallbearers will be James Steele, Jackie Slankard, Keith Moore, Ronnie Moore, Bruce Pyles and Jake Jerry. Honorary pallbearer will be Andrew Moore.
