Lynn Arthur Sanderson, 69, passed away Friday, February 16, 2024 in his home in Dayton, Arkansas. He was born in Fort Smith, Arkansas on May 18, 1954 to Charlie and Mabel (Foote) Sanderson. He is survived by the love of his life, Gayla Law, sisters, Kay Voss and Karen Coyle and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charlie and Mabel Sanderson, sister, Kendra Elmore and brother, Gary Sanderson.
Lynn was a proud graduate of Mansfield High School and participated in a wide variety of activities and athletics. Lynn earned All District and All State Honors in football, was selected to Boys State, was elected State FFA President and earned a National 4H Award in Soil Conservation.
Lynn received two Bachelor Degrees from the University of Arkansas including Agricultural Business. He was a member of Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He was a life-long member of the Dayton Baptist Church and was currently attending Washburn United Methodist Church.
Lynn was employed over the years by Farm Credit Service in Poteau, Procurement and Property Manager for US General Services Administration at Fort Chaffee, A to Z in Alma and Sparks Regional Medical Center in Fort Smith. He was an entrepreneur in his later years and was always looking for a good deal! He enjoyed fishing, hunting and baling hay in the summer. He went on his first trip out of the United States this year, spending Christmas with family in Costa Rica.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, February 21 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Union Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be John Jones, Tony Jones, Todd Cumbie, Brian Sanderson, Chris Sanderson and Tim Cumbie.
