Marion McConnell Copeland

Dickey McConnell Copeland, 90, of Carlsbad, California passed away January 6, 2018 in Carlsbad. She was a graduate of Greenwood High, class of 1945. Dickey got her undergraduate degree from Ouachita Baptist College and her master's from George Peabody College for Teachers. She was the Instructional Materials Director (Head Librarian) for Rialto School District in California for 32 years, before she retired in 1987. Dickey also served as president of the California Media and Library Educators Association.

She is survived by her brother, Rick McConnell (Susan), her children, Doug Copeland (Kelly) and Vicki Pearson (Mark), and her grandchildren, Aaron and Carlisle Pearson.

Memorial service will be 2 p.m., Saturday, March 10 at the McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood.
