Martha Durden Loum of Greenwood, Arkansas left this world Thursday, December 16, 2021 to be with the Lord whom she loved and worshipped with all her heart. Marty was a beautiful lady, inside and out. She went above and beyond for her family and friends, from PTA President to Sunday School teacher, she did everything with her whole heart. She was born September 27, 1944 in Fort Smith, Arkansas.
She met her husband of 56 years, Charles "Nub” Loum at her family's little store in Fort Smith, Arkansas and it was a beautiful love story. They were both avid Razorback fans, and I do mean avid.
Marty was preceded in death by her parents, Roger Durden and Vela Misee Durden, both of Greenwood and her husband, Charles Loum also of Greenwood. She leaves behind one daughter, Michelle Loum Stewart and husband, Derek; two granddaughters, Amber Plymale Boatman and husband, Kevin and Candice Plymale McCollum and husband, Joey; four great grandchildren, Kaitlin Parker, Evan Reid, Levi McCollum and Lily McCollum and three step grandchildren, Megan Stewart Johnson, Lance Stewart and Rachel Stewart and their children.
She is greatly missed. Her heart and the ways she calmed our souls will be forever in our hearts. She taught us all so much. She was a wise and funny woman. We love you!
A family led memorial service will be held 2 p.m., Wednesday, December 22 at Northside Church of Christ in Greenwood. Cremation is under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
