Matilda Oxford

Matilda Oxford, 93, of Hartford passed away on Sunday, August 7, 2011 in a local nursing home. She was retired from Luby’s Cafeteria and a member of James Fork Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin, a daughter, Patricia J. Carter and two brothers, John D. and Arthur Rogers.

Survivors include two sons, Earl Oxford and his wife, Gerita, Everett Oxford and his wife, Velta, all of Hartford; one daughter, Lois Acoach and her husband, Buddy of Charleston; three sisters, Dorthy Ricardo of La Habra, CA, Martha Mathis of Corona, CA and Junita McAlister and her husband, J.L. of Farmersville, CA; two sister-in-laws, Myrtle Rogers of Maywood, CA and Audrey Rogers of Inglewood, CA; sixteen grandchildren; thirty-one great grandchildren and six great great grandchildren.

Services will be Wednesday, August 10th at 10:00 A.M. at James Fork Baptist Church with burial at Coop Prairie Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 9th from 1-9 PM at the funeral home where family will visit with friends from 6-8 PM.

Pallbearers will be grandsons.
