Merle Loftis

Merle Loftis, 89, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Friday, December 31, 2021 in Greenwood. He was a retired electrician from Continental Can Company, member of Greenwood Assembly of God Church and a veteran of the U.S. Army.

He is survived by three daughters, Debra James of Greenwood, Linda Darlene Loftis and Denise Hackney both of Fort Smith; one brother, Leslie Loftis of Louisiana, three sisters, Nellie Henderson and husband, Dub of Prattsville, AR, Lenora Bennings and husband, Poodle of Prattsville, AR and Barbara Walters and husband, Doug of Sheridan, Arkansas; eight grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Sue Loftis, a son, Larry Loftis and brother, Noel Loftis.

Funeral service with Military Honors will be 10 a.m., Wednesday, January 5 at Greenwood Assembly of God Church with burial at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Tuesday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 5 – 7 p.m.

Pallbearers will be Keith James, Aidan James, Cody Snyder, Cliff Hackney, Alex Tapperich and Daniel Hackney.
