Paul Earnest Curd, 65, of Pocola, died Wednesday, December 15, 2010 in Pocola. He loved music, camp meeting, church, family, playing his tambourine, Elvis Presley, but most of all, God. He said that he was the assistant pastor of Wister Assembly of God Church.
Funeral service will be 2 pm Saturday, December 18, 2010 at Pocola Christian Fellowship (First Assembly of God Church) with burial at New Hope Cemetery in Spiro under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood. Viewing will be Friday from 1 – 9 pm at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 – 8 pm.
He is survived by four sisters, Marcella Dewitt of Van Buren, Lou Hayes of Barling, Georgia Burns of Pocola and Alvina Mason of Pocola; one brother, Arlie Curd and his wife, Willene of Van Buren; three sisters-in-law, Pat Curd of Roland, Syble Curd of Fort Smith and Jean Curd of Poteau; one brother-in-law, Dallas Branch of Pocola.
Pallbearers will be Brian Curd, Charles Dempsey, Damon Mason, Daryl Anderson, Fred Curd, Odis Branch, Kenneth M. Tedford and Bob Moore. Honorary pallbearers will be nephews.
