Paulena Fay Pierce went to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 5, 2021 in Memphis, Tennessee. She was born to Paul F. Thomas Sr. and Lorena Leigh (Fancher) Thomas on August 4, 1931 in Cordell, Oklahoma. Her career included working for Holiday Inn in Fort Smith, being a private caregiver for many and team driving for J&J Trucking with her husband, Arthur M. Pierce. She was a wonderful seamstress and loved to make dresses for her three girls. She shared her love and talents in the form of many handmade crocheted and needlepoint gifts to others. She was an avid team bowler with many friends and family members. She enjoyed watching golf and professional football.
She is survived by three daughters, Pauline Patricia Winegard of Florahome, FL, Claudia Gayle Hackney of Fort Smith, AR, Judy Kay Sebo and husband, Dennis of Memphis, TN; two brothers, Richard L. Thomas of Hartford, AR and Merle Thomas and wife, Mary of Fort Smith, AR; two sisters-in-law, Barbara Thomas of Alma, AR and Carol Thomas of Witcherville, AR; a cousin, Fannie Warner of Hallsville, TX; five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Lloyd Edward Dixon, Jr., brothers, Paul F. Thomas, Jr. and James F. Thomas and a great granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Blankenship.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m., Thursday, June 10 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Coop Prairie Cemetery in Mansfield. Viewing will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service.
