
Pearl Key Myers, 91, of Fort Smith passed away peacefully on Monday, June 27, 2011 in a Fort Smith hospital. Pearl was born January 19, 1920 in Williams, Oklahoma. She was a homemaker and loved raising her children and grandchildren, gardening, cooking, and quilting. The garden surrounding her longtime home on Cypress Avenue won numerous awards and was known by many people as the finest in Fort Smith. She also completed more than one hundred quilts and dozens more embroidered pieces that adorned her home.
She is survived by her sister, Geneva Hargrove of Pocola, OK; grandson Brad Myers and wife, Jill Fredel, of New Castle, Delaware; granddaughter, Kim Garrison of Fort Smith; daughter-in-law, Maxine Myers of Fort Smith; step-granddaughter, Shannon Ladd and husband, James, of Fort Smith and several nieces and nephews.
Pearl was preceded in death by her husband, Louie Myers; three sons, David, Dennis and Donnie Myers; father, Bracie Key; mother, Mary Eskridge Key; sister, Lorene Key; and brothers, James and Harold Key.
Graveside services will be held at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 1, 2011 at Mountain View Cemetery near Hackett, AR under the direction of McConnell Funeral Home of Greenwood.
