Rebecca Rae “Becky” Mitchusson James, 70, of Greenwood, Arkansas went home to Jesus on New Year’s Day, January 1, 2025. She was at home and peacefully fell asleep and woke in God’s arms. She is free of cancer and rejoicing with her momma in Heaven. She was so strong, tough, lovable, funny, and most importantly faithful.
Becky was born on July 7, 1954 to Reba Jean (Yandell) Mitchusson. Becky was a 1972 graduate of Greenwood High School. She was a cheerleader, band member, homecoming maid, and according to her husband – the prettiest girl in the entire town. She loved God and her family fiercely. She loved working outdoors with Michael, gardening and her plants. She loved spending time with her grandkids and watching them cheer, play ball, and play on the farm. She loved the ocean and trips to the beach. Her favorite hobby over the last several years, was side by side riding trips with Michael. They have explored many things together over the years, from Hawaii to Yellowstone to Taylor Park and everything in between. She was adventurous and the best copilot. She loved watching the Razorbacks, especially basketball (thank goodness they didn’t have neighbors because she could yell at that TV). She provided an idyllic childhood for her three girls and several nieces and nephews; summers were spent playing war in the woods and swimming in the pond. As her girls got older, she began working for RTS Med at Fort Chaffee. She then had many great years at ABF U-Pack military moves, where she made many friends and retired March 31, 2017.
She was preceded in death by her mother and her precious niece, Angela (Angie) Dianne Glover. Becky is survived by her husband of 52 years, Michael James; her three daughters, Christy Walton and husband, Matt of Rogers, Tracey Stites and husband, Gary of Oxford, MS and Tammy Thomas and her husband, Jeremey of Greenwood; six grandchildren, Paige Moore and husband, Cory of Greenwood, Ben Walton of Rogers, Parker, Peyton and Tinley Thomas of Greenwood and Ella Stites of Oxford, MS; three great grandchildren, Braxton, Weston and Corbin Moore of Greenwood; her sisters, Teresa (G.A.) Griffith, Debbie (Larry) Glover; a brother, James (Emily) Mitchusson; aunt, Dianne Dunn all of Greenwood, along with tons of nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws and friends.
