Rhonald Murphree

Rhonald O. Murphree of Ft. Smith, Arkansas born in Heavener, Oklahoma on June 22, 1930 went to his heavenly home Saturday, May 5, 2018. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War, an oil field worker, an owner/operator of Murphree’s DX wrecker service and U-Haul rentals and member of Rye Hill Baptist Church. Murph had many stories to tell about each.

He is survived by his wife, Melba; one son Robert K. and wife, Chris of Pocola, OK; one grandson, Robert C. Murphree of Fayetteville, AR; one brother, Derrell Murphree and wife, Diane of Tampa, Florida; a sister-in-law, Sybil Carmack of Waldron, AR; special nieces and nephews and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Dewey Murphree; one son Russell E. Murphree and sister, Ellene.

Funeral will be 10 am Tuesday, May 8 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with interment at Square Rock Cemetery in Waldron. Viewing Monday from 1-8 pm where the family will visit with friends from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Beauchamp, Phillip Beauchamp, Jim Carter, Jason McGaugh, Curt Crippen and Cole Crippen. Honorary pallbearers will be Gillie Robinson, Kenneth Williams and Kendall Hicks.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his honor to Gideon’s International or Rye Hill Baptist Building Fund, 11512 Old Hwy 71S, Fort Smith, AR 72916.
