Roy A. Riedel, 90, of Greenwood, Arkansas passed away Wednesday, March 2, 2022 peacefully in his home with the beautiful assistance from Mercy Hospice; wife, Kimberly Whitlock Riedel; son, Roy Riedel Jr.; sister in law, Hollie Whitlock and stepson, Cameron Santana. He was born March 27, 1931 in New Brighton, Pennsylvania. Roy was retired from the civil service as an engineer and was a U.S. Navy veteran. He enjoyed building Mustangs and going to car shows.
Roy is survived by his wife, Kimberly Whitlock Riedel; son, Roy Riedel, Jr.; daughters, Julie Young, Lori Ransom, Michele Martin and Kristine Riedel; two step children, Cameron Santana and Jessica Jackson; two brothers, David Riedel and Nelson Riedel; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with extended family who loved him. He was preceded in death by his father, Roy Riedel, his mother, Mabel Pyles Riedel and his first wife, Jerry Riedel.
Viewing will be Monday, March 7 from 1 – 7 p.m. at McConnell Funeral Home in Greenwood. A service will be held at a later date at the U.S. National Cemetery to celebrate his final journey with family and friends according to his wishes.
