

Sue Craven Lewis passed from this life on January 25, 2018. She was born in Pasadena, California on May 15, 1929 to Lyndon and Henrietta Craven. She was 88 years old. She was a lifelong resident of the Fort Smith-Greenwood area. Sue, along with her husband, Bud, owned Mary Carter Paint Company in Fort Smith, Sue’s Arts and Crafts and Lewis Sales Company. Sue’s love for art and crafts resulted in her hosting weekly arts and crafts segments on KFSM’s Noon on Five Program for several years.
She was a member of the Goddard Methodist Church Choir, South Sebastian County Historical Society and part-time curator of Greenwood’s Old Jail House Museum. Sue was the consummate hostess, entertainer and a gourmet chef. She will be remembered by all who knew her as “the life of the party”.
Sue was preceded in death by her husband, George (Bud) Lewis, her brother, James Craven and grandson, Jordan Lewis. Sue is survived by her son, Mark Lewis and wife, Julie (Nolte) Lewis; her daughter, Lynda Miller and husband, Randy Miller all of Fort Smith and three grandchildren, Joseph Babitzke of Fort Smith, Isaac Lewis of Houston, Texas and Gabrielle Steen of Fayetteville.
Funeral service will be 11 a.m., Monday, January 29 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Greenwood Memorial Cemetery. Viewing will be Sunday from 1 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home, where friends and family will gather to celebrate Sue’s life and their memories of her from 5 – 7 p.m.
Pallbearers will be Larry Miller, Gary Miller, James Eichling, Mike Nolte, Tim Bauman and Hoot Jones. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam Miller and Charley Miller.
