

Velma Marion Cole, 94 passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in Fort Smith. She was born June 6, 1920 in Dayton, Arkansas She was retired from the Mansfield School System and was a member of Witcherville Fellowship Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Edwin Cole; her parents, Dock and Martha Ellen Puckett; her mother, Hester Ann Nixon; three sisters, Laura King, Evy Stephens and Geanie Weaver and two brothers, Marvin and Walter Puckett.
She is survived by her daughter, Phyllis Moore and husband, James of Fort Smith; three sons, Dennis Cole and wife, Sherry of Fort Smith and Jerry and Eddie Cole both of Fort Smith; grandchildren, Kevin Cole and wife, Michelle, Angie Atkins and husband, Tommy, Jody Moore and wife Rihanna all of Fort Smith, Kelly Moore and wife, Dana of Greenwood, Barry Cole and wife, Jessica of McKinney, TX and Steven Cole and wife, Jennifer of Bolivar, MO; five great grandchildren, Tyler Atkins, Jordan Cole and Emilee Cole all of Fort Smith, Sara Beth and Abby Moore of Greenwood; numerous nieces and nephews that she loved very much and two very special friends, Betty Uselton and Alice Weeks.
Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Saturday, January 17, 2015 at McConnell Funeral Home Chapel in Greenwood with burial at Liberty Cemetery in Greenwood. Viewing will be Friday from 1 – 8 p.m. at the funeral home, where the family will visit with friends from 6 – 8 p.m.
Pallbearers will be grandsons.
