

Alice attended Willamette University for two years, then transferred to Oregon State. She worked as a Secretary-Bookkeeper in Seattle and Portland for several years, then married Irval (Red) E. Savage, Jr., an Air Force pilot from Salt Lake City. Stationed at bases in California, New Mexico, Texas, Illinois, Colorado, Washington, Germany (where they adopted their son Gary), and England. They retired to the Portland area. After several heart attacks, Red passed away in 1966. In 1968 Alice married Mabon A. Cornwell, a retired Air Force officer from Billings, Montana. Alice worked in the office of the Lloyd Corporation and lived in Lake Oswego. Following retirement Alice and Mabon moved to Summerfield, Oregon, taking up gardening, golf and traveling. Alice was preceded in death by her husband Mabon in 1988.
Alice is survived by her son Gary R. Savage, of Portland.
Memorial service will be on Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at Smith Memorial Presbyterian Church located at 4240 Fairview Ave. in Fairview, Oregon. Private interment is at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham.
