
Anna was born on December 4, 1914 in Howard, Arkansas and was the daughter of Samuel and Emily (Hall) Sexton. She attended school in Mina, Arkansas and in the late 1930’s she moved to Oregon where she resided in East County.
During WWII, Anna worked as a welder in the Portland Ship yards. She later owned and operated Dirty Cleaners in Portland for over 40 years. In 1954, she married Percy Garrison in Vancouver, Washington and he preceded her in death in 1997.
Anna was a hard worker and extremely devoted to her church, Family Worship Center in Portland. She also enjoyed sewing and raised and sold flowers on the corner of 174th in Portland.
She is survived by her brother, John Sexton of Arkansas along with 6 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Her husband, Percy, her son, Vernon and her daughter, Darlene all preceded her in death.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00 am at Family Worship Center in Portland, Oregon. Private Entombment will be at Forest Lawn Cemetery. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
