Carol Darlene Marchant

Carol Darlene Marchant passed away November 4, 2012 at her home in Portland. Carol was born in Unionville, Missouri to parents Canute and Grace Steenson on December 23, 1946, the youngest of four. She moved at a young age with her family to Prineville, Oregon, where she graduated from Crook County High School in 1965. Shortly after, Carol followed her big sister to the big city, and moved to Portland.

In June 1969, Carol married Edwin Lee Marchant, and together they had 3 daughters. Carol worked mainly as an accountant for the Randall Group, where she spent over 15 years. In her free time, Carol enjoyed gardening, and she made sure her garden bloomed all year long. She also loved music and dancing, reading, and entertaining friends. Above all, Carol loved her family. Her family was her life, and she always made sure that every member of it felt special and well-taken care of.

Carol is survived by her daughters, Kimberly Anne Marchant (Rody), Kari Christine Perry (Ryan), and Valerie Lindsay Marchant; brothers Richard and Larry Steenson; granddaughters Rian Taylor Perry and Izabella Grace Gancheff; lifelong friend Linda Schluetz; numerous nieces and nephews; and her loving dog, Ozzie. A memorial service will be held for Carol on Thursday November 15, 2012 at 1:00pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
