Carol was the youngest daughter of Edgar and Naomi James of Portland. Born and raised in Portland, she went to Milwaukie High School and graduated in 1956. Carol worked at J.K. Gill Company, Pacific Northwest Bell, and Consolidated Freightways.
Carol met Don Kovar in 1966. They married and had three children, which she says were her proudest accomplishments. After being widowed in 1987, she continued to immerse herself in work and her family. She met Don Villeneuve at First Covenant Church and were later married in 1997, until his passing in 2015.
She was involved with Meals on Wheels, her church, and was an Oasis Mentor-Tutor for Gresham Barlow School District later in her life. She would never miss a Johnny Mathis concert on television or at the concert hall.
Carol Villeneuve went home to her Lord on Easter weekend, Saturday, April 19th, 2025. She passed away from heart failure. She spent her last day upbeat and in wonderful spirits. She was in no pain, and went see Jesus while in her sleep early on Saturday morning.
Carol is survived by her sons, Erik Kovar (Michelle), Scott Kovar, Brett Kovar, and her loving cat Krystal. She has three grandchildren, Jennifer Flowers, Amber Maier, Derik Patterson Kovar, and two Great Grandchildren, Noah, and Hailey.
Her Internment at Willamette National Cemetery will precede a scheduled Memorial Service. Carol’s Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, May 6th, 2025, at 1:00PM. The First Covenant Church is located at 4433 E. Burnside Street, Portland Oregon.
