

Donald James Burns a resident of Gresham, Oregon, died on May 30, 2011 in Gresham. He was 28 years of age.
Donald was born on September 14, 1982 in Portland, Oregon and was the son of David and Linda (Ostergard) Burns. He was raised in Gresham and graduated from Sam Barlow High School in 2001. He owned and operated Burns Herefords and Cattle Service.
Donald was active in FFA and 4H during his school years. And continued to show Hereford Cattle through the Oregon Junior Hereford Association. He was a member of the Oregon Hereford Association and the American Hereford Association. He enjoyed his work and specialized in cattle sale clipping and in custom cattle fitting. He loved farming and agriculture and was always known as a hard worker. Donald loved his family and he adored his girlfriend Kaitlan.
Donald is survived by his parents, David and Linda Burns of Gresham, sister, Sarah Burns of Gresham, bothers, David Burns Jr. of Bend and Michael Burns of Vancouver, WA and girlfriend Kaitlan McKinnis of Gresham.
A service of remembrance will be held at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sandy on Saturday June 4, 2011 at 2:00pm. Contributions can be made to the Clackamas County 4H Beef Program or to any U.S. bank for the Donald James Burns Memorial Scholarship Fund. Bateman Carroll Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
