Donald K. Ewers

Donald Keith Ewers, 90 of Milwaukie OR, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012. He was born on May 24, 1922 in Clayton, Wisconsin to Archie and Leona (Gander) Ewers. He served in the U.S. Army from 1942 to 1944. He married Crystal Dorothee Gale on May 12, 1945 in St. Paul, Minnesota. Donald worked as a building contractor from 1947 until his retirement in 2004 and operated Don Ewers Construction for many years. He came to Portland in 1979 and was a longtime member of the Apostolic Faith Church where he was active in the choir, as an usher and with construction. Donald enjoyed camping, fishing, cars, motorcycles, playing music on the mandolin, guitar and violin and he loved playing Rook.

He is survived by his wife Crystal Ewers of Milwaukie OR; sons D. Michael Ewers of Damascus OR and David Ewers of Boise ID; daughter Lisa Hanson of Happy Valley OR; sisters Olea Nix and Rosemary Buss both of Portland OR and Virginia Jensen and Avis Engle both of Medford OR; ten grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.

Graveside Services will be held at 10:00am on Tuesday, December 18, 2012 at Willamette National Cemetery in Portland, Oregon. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
