Dorothy went to school at Girls Poly in Portland. On October 4, 1971 she married Thomas Kempf in Bend, Oregon. Dorothy was a grocery checker at Albertsons Grocery Store in Portland. Dorothy was a Methodist. She was a long time Gresham resident. Interests included gardening and cooking. She loved pets, wildlife, and the squirrels and raccoons that were in her yard.

Survivors include her husband Thomas, of Gresham, three sons, Michael and his wife Joyce Pardue, of Estacada, OR., Steven Pardue, of Welches, OR., and Martin Pardue, of Portland, OR., many grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren and niece and nephew Diane and Duane VanDyke .
