Douglas Bud Peter Sattergren

August 6, 1933 - January 6, 2014

Douglas Peter (Bud) Sattergren was born August 6, 1933 in Sanish, North Dakota to Nels and Louise (Pickar) Sattergren. The family moved to Portland, Oregon in 1946 and Doug graduated from Washington High School in 1951. He served in the National Guard and worked for Remington Rand and US Bank. Doug met monthly for lunch with a group of fellow US Bank retirees up to his surgery. He enjoyed traveling, collecting toy tractors and antique radios, and was a member of the Northwest Vintage Radio Society and Gresham Elks, and an “associate member” of Powell Valley Garden Club. Doug was preceded in death by son Rick (Cecilia), and brothers Ray and Bob. He is survived by his wife Elva; daughter Carolyn Giles; sons Doug (Nikki), Kerry, and Craig (Susan); sisters Mavis Sattergren and Marlis Ostlund; 10 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, cousins; and special friends. A viewing will be 1pm-5pm Friday January 10, 2014 and again Sunday, January 12, 12pm-12:30pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd, Gresham, Oregon. A graveside service will be held at on Sunday, January 12 at 1:30 pm at Gresham Pioneer Cemetery, SW Walters Rd., Gresham. A memorial service will be held at 3:30pm Sunday January 12, at St. Paul of Damascus Lutheran Church, 24510 SE Highway 212, Damascus, Oregon.
