Eileen Marguerite Henderson

Eileen was born on February 5, 1931 in Portland, Oregon and she was the daughter of Henry and Minnie (Kirsch) Weiss. She graduated from Washington High School in 1948 where she was a Rose Festival Princess. She met her husband, Norman at Bob Jones University and was married at Hinson Baptist Church (Portland) on August 20, 1954.

Eileen was a committed wife, a devoted mother, passionate grandmother and a comforting friend. She was a member of Montavilla Baptist Church and lived her faith through her actions. Eileen worked for the State of Oregon as the supervisor for East Multnomah County Family Services, where she retired in 1993.

Eileen was a vibrant and caring soul, opening her house to many in need. Along with frequent motorcycle trips with her husband d and friends, she enjoyed reading, sewing, knitting and walking. Following retirement, she enjoyed international travel related to short term mission work.

Eileen is survived by her husband of 57 years, Norman of Happy Valley, children; Gerald Henderson of Key West, Janet Hill of Seattle and Sharon Henderson of Santa Fe along with 2 grandchildren; Jonathan and Sarah. Her brother, Joseph and sister, Marion both preceded her in death.

A memorial service will be held at Montavilla Baptist Church, Portland, Oregon on Saturday, October 1, 2011 at 2:00 pm.
