Gaylord Gregor Baughman

Gaylord Gregor Baughman, who was born on February 23, 1928, went home to be with the Lord on February 24th, 2017. He joined the love of his life, Norma Lee Baughman, who preceded him in death on November 8th, 2015. He is survived by their children and their spouses, Beth and Bill Murphy of Vancouver, Jenny and Bob Schiller of Gresham, and Chris Baughman and his partner Desilee of Oregon City. He adored his grandchildren, Amy Chairsell and her husband Tyler, Joseph Gaylord Schiller, and Mackenzie Baughman.

He was the youngest of three children born to Gaylord and Margaret Baughman and resided in Gresham most of his life. He is preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Eugene Baughman and sister, Eleanore Sabbe.

Gaylord served in the armed forces for a number of years and went on to graduate from the University of Portland with an Engineering Degree. He was a kind and generous man who was always willing to help others. He and Norma were happiest during their retirement years when they lived in Manzanita on the Oregon coast. Together they were an inspiration to all that knew them, not only for their love for each other, but their love of the Lord as well.

A Celebration of Gaylord’s life will be held at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home, 520 W. Powell Blvd., Gresham, Oregon at 1:00 pm on Saturday, March 4th. Burial at Willamette National Cemetery will be private.
