George Leaflet Keoki Watson

George Leaflet Keoki Watson died on March 14, 2015 in Vancouver, Washington at the age of 86. He was one of eight children. He was born on May 11, 1928 in Wahiawa, Hawaii, to Daniel and Sophie (Watson) Yoshimoto.

He served his country in the United States Army. George was a devote catholic who was a member of St. Henry Catholic Church.

George married Barbara Riggs in 1969 in Beaverton, Oregon. Barbara preceded George in death in 2007.

George loved cooking. He enjoyed eating Japanese food. George treasured spending time with his family.

George is survived by his daughter Shirleen and her husband Richard Niewiroski, Pasadena, CA. and their three children, Richard Niewiroski Jr., and Kevin and Eric Niewiroski, a step-daughter, Mary Ellen Woodward, Kent, WA. and her four children, Erika McFarland, Katie, Kendall and Paul Smith, and George’s three great-grandhildren, Zachary and Samantha Prentice and soon to be born Luke Niewiroski.

Visitation will be on Tuesday, March 24, 2015 from 5-8 p.m. at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham.

Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Henry Catholic Church, 346 N. 1st St. in Gresham, Oregon with a concluding graveside service at Willamette National Cemetery at 2:00 p.m.
