Gina Marie Gaston, age 63 passed away on Thursday, April 17, 2025.
Gina was born on September 22, 1961 to George and Gerda Woods in Portland, Oregon. She grew up in Portland, Oregon and graduated from Cleveland High School. In February 1984 she married David Gaston at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Portland, Oregon moving to Gresham, Oregon shortly thereafter where she was a stay-at-home mom to their three children. In 1999 she began working for Sears at Lloyd Center before transferring to the Clackamas Town Center location where she remained until that store closed in November 2018. After her time at Sears, Gina cared for her three granddaughters before and after school, driving them to play dates and their many activities.
Gina loved to take road trips, especially to the Oregon Coast with her sister Gayle, her children, and her granddaughters. Gina found great joy in camping, cheering on the Portland Winterhawks, visiting the animals at the zoo, playing slot machines at the casino and traveling whenever she could. She had recently received her passport and had plans to travel abroad with Gayle. Gina is most well known for her love of Disney. She took many trips throughout the years, but from 2007 - 2024 she visited the Disney parks at least a dozen times with her sister Gayle, daughter Heidi and her granddaughters. Some of the things she most enjoyed while visiting the parks were to visit her favorite character Mickey Mouse in ToonTown, feel the exhilaration of riding Space Mountain, or grabbing a bite at New Orleans Square Cafe’ (she would recommend the Monte Cristo). Her last trip to Disneyland was in celebration of her birthday in September of 2024. It was on that trip that Everly discovered she was finally tall enough to ride the Incredicoaster with her Grandmother, a memory she will never forget.
Gina was preceded by her mother, Gerda Woods, and her father George Woods. She is survived by her husband David Gaston, her sisters Gayle and Geri Woods, her brother Gary Woods, her daughter Heidi Williams and her husband Zach, her son Greg Gaston and his wife Renee, and her son Daniel Gaston. Gina is also survived by her three granddaughters; Madeline, Isabelle and Everly.
