

Gloria Ann Taft, 72 of Corbett OR, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2015. She was born on August 11, 1942 in Lebanon, Oregon to Albert and Iris (Green) Hegge and was a 1960 graduate of Ridgefield High School in Ridgefield, Washington. Gloria married John Collins on September 21, 1962 in Ridgefield, Washington and he preceded her in death on May 24, 1999. She married Dalton Taft on January 29, 2000 at Aims Community Church in Corbett, Oregon.
Gloria worked in various office and manufacturing jobs that included Kaso Plastics, Coyote Archery, Warehouser Mortgage and Nickel Ads. She was heavily involved with the family businesses of Collins Tool & Dye and D & G Taft Trucking and was actively involved with Farm Maid Soap. Gloria was all about her family and hospitality and was an active supporter of Corbett Children’s Theater. She was also known for her collection of pigs.
Gloria is survived by her husband Dalton Taft of Corbett OR; daughter Kathy Johnson (Jay) of Corbett OR; mother Iris Hegge of Battleground WA; sisters Norma Bischoff (Willie) of Ridgefield WA, Carol Shimer (Butch) of Washougal WA and Dolly Hoisington of Battleground WA; brothers Jim Hegge (Sharon) and Don Hegge (Lucy) both of Ridgefield WA and Ron Hegge (Glenda) of Apache Junction AZ; seven grandchildren, four step grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Gloria was also preceded in death by her son Kenny Collins in 1971 and her brother Duane Hegge in 1939.
A Celebration of Gloria’s Life will be held at 3:00pm on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at The Chapel, 27132 SE Stark, Troutdale OR 97060. Graveside services will be held at 10:00am on Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Mt. View Corbett Cemetery in Corbett, Oregon. Contributions in lieu of flowers may be made as donations to Corbett Children’s Theater. Arrangements entrusted to Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
