

Henry Alexander Keller passed away September 27, 2012 in Fairview, Oregon. He was born June 24, 1927 in Portland, Oregon to parents Alex and Mary Keller. He was raised in the Northwest, and stayed here for much of his life. He attended Battle Ground H.S. and Jefferson H.s., graduating in 1944.
Henry entered the Army in 1945, where he served a little over a year. After his service, he began work at NW Natural Gas Co. He worked there for 42 years, until his retirement. On December 27, 1944, he married Shirley (Ross). They raised three daughters together, and shared 56 years of marriage, until Shirley’s passing in 2001. Henry enjoyed hunting, fishing, clam-digging and farming. He was social and fun to be around. Henry never met a stranger, and was kind and generous to those around him. He was a fan of sports, especially the Winterhawks and Mariners. Henry also served as Mayor of Fairview, Oregon for several years.
Henry is survived by his daughters Linda Forsythe, of Fairview, OR, Joanne (Rick) Trombley of Fairview, OR, and Cathy (Larry) Brown, of Portland, OR, brothers George (Eilene) Keller and Richard (Lisa) Keller; as well as his grandchildren David, Skip, Henry, Robert, Lonie, Natalie, Travis, and Megan; and great-grandchildren Siana, Katie, Nathan, Kimberlee, Conor, Joiya, Kyle, Lucas, Logyn, Kaleb, and Tyson, and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held on Monday October 8, 2012 at 12:30pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon.
