

Jeanette was born March 20, 1917 in Winnipeg, Canada to Fred and Agnes (LeDez) Moore. The family moved to Oregon when Jeanette was a child. She attended Jefferson High School. Jeanette married Howard Savage on June 6, 1936 in Portland, Oregon. She worked for most of her life as a caterer. She cooked, coordinated and set up catered events for various organizations including the Scottish Rite and several different churches.
Jeanette loved cooking and was the best cook. She would tackle anything and was always trying new recipes. She enjoyed watching the Food Network and cooking shows. Jeanette also loved to play cards, especially Pinochle, Canasta and Poker. She was a member of the Suburbanites social group. She and her friends would go to restaurants together, play cards and engage in various other activities. She was a talented seamstress and sewed all of her daughters’ clothing during their childhood. She also liked to crochet and knit and made baby hats that she donated to the hospital for newborn infants.
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband, Howard Savage; brother, Fred Moore; and sisters Pearl Monroe and Mary Pat “Punky” Holmes. She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Clayton of Corbett, Oregon; Shirley Lindberg and her husband, Dan of Milwaukie, Oregon; grandsons, Jeff Lindberg and his wife Judy; Ron Clayton and his wife, Janette; Jim Clayton and his wife, Sheri; Scott Clayton and his wife, Becky; granddaughters, Jill Lindberg; Natalie Mills; Brooke Lindberg; Chris Spanjer and her husband, Gordon; and 16 great-grandchildren.
