Jeannette Keene Clay

Martha Jeannette Keene Clay, 95, of Gresham, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2015 at her home. Jeannette was born in Kansas City, Kansas to William and Augusta (Kahn) Clay. Jeannette earned a Bachelor’s degree at the University of California, Berkeley and retired as a school teacher after almost 20 years. She married Orval S. Clay on July 6th, 1944 in Berkeley, California and together they shared 68 years of marriage and raised five children. Spending time with her family and serving those around her were principles by which she lived. She volunteered with SnowCap, and the Mt Hood Community College Saints. Jeannette was preceded in death by her husband, Orval; daughter, Marjorie; and brothers, William, Kahn, and John. She is survived by her four sons: Charles, Keene (Peg), Peter (Lynn), Paul (Terri); son-in-law, Harry Bluder; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Her smile and presence will be missed immensely. A celebration of life will be held on July 10th at 6:30 pm at the Gresham United Church of Christ, 2025 NE 23rd St, Gresham, OR 97030.
