Jeffrey Ross White, of Gresham, Oregon passed away May 25, 2012 in Portland, OR. He was born October 10, 1946 to parents William and Wanda White in Vallejo, CA, and was raised in El Paso, TX, where he became an Eagle Scout as a young man. As an adult, Jeff got a job surveying the Natural Gas Pipeline in Washington while it was under construction, and loved Oregon so much that he moved here permanently.
On August 12, 1972 Jeff married Genny (Aamot) in Oregon City. They had almost 40 years of wonderful marriage together. Jeff worked at a steel mill and wood mill before starting his career as a computer technician. There was nothing he couldn’t fix around the house, from cars to plumbing. Jeff enjoyed being outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. He especially enjoyed his Harley, and often took the grandkids for a ride. He was a very involved father and grandfather, making sure he made it to all of his kid’s games and activities. Jeff was a man of his word, and fiercely independent and private. He was a man who liked to get things done.
Jeff is survived by his wife, Genny White, of Gresham; sons Bill Schritter of New Mexico, Chad White of Gresham, OR, and Jason White of Phoenix, AZ; daughter Elizabeth White of Gresham, OR; brother Greg White of California; sister Lou Anne Boone of El Paso, TX, and grandchildren Skylar White, William Robert Schritter, Peyton West. A memorial service will be held Saturday June 2, 2012 at 11:00am at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, OR.
