Mrs. Joan Margaret Lofland

Joan was born on April 29, 1932 in Portland, Oregon to Lesley and Margaret Dollarhide. Joan met her future husband, Mead at Roosevelt High School. Six months after graduation they were married. The following year they began their family with daughter Linda. A Son, Michael was born two years later.

Joan was a long time member of Eastmont Church serving in many capacities. The last fourteen years, she was an active member at Abundant Life.

Her family would like you to remember Joan for her kindness and compassion. She always had an ear for anyone that needed to talk and never failed to recognize that memories last a lifetime. Her family was her passion and joy. She never wavered in her faith or her trust in God. She left this world thanking him for all the blessings He’d given her in her life.

Joan was a devoted wife, amazing mother; grandmother and great grandmother; loving daughter and sister. She was brave, supportive and a good friend who was an excellent example to others. She was a very special lady who will be enormously missed.

Joan is survived by her daughter Linda Kercher and her husband Henry of Gresham; granddaughters Carrie Anne and her husband Matt of Carson City, Nevada; Brenda and her husband Josh of Gresham; Great-granddaughter Liza Jane and Great Grandson Devin; and Great Granddaughters Liviya, Laura and Kacey. Joan is also survivd by her two sisters, Marilyn McGregor of Camas and Jacilyn McVicker of Vancouver. She was preceded in death by her husband Mead and her son Michael.

A Celebration of Joan’s life will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 12:00 pm at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham. Interment will be at Skyline Memorial Gardens.
