John Dady, known to many as the man behind Blowsion and the creator and owner of a high-end, world-renowned watercraft custom paint and parts supplier, died on Friday, August 12, of a previously undetected congenital heart condition. He was 47 years old.
Probably the best word to describe John: icon. Personally or professionally, his personality took up the room and his spirit never failed to make people feel seen. No matter whom he encountered, he was always truly present, asking questions and listening, along with his trademark humorous teasing that was so engaging. Sending him into a room of strangers meant that he would leave with friends. He was surrounded by friends from all walks of life, the Blowsion Posse from his business, friends from soccer, and the family's many activities.
If you had a need or suffered a loss, John would come alongside you and personally do all he could to assist. His heart for others had no bounds.
John’s artistic talent and love of personal watercraft was a lifestyle, and in the 1990s, he built a custom watercraft design and painting business that now has a global customer base.
He was a rabid Timbers fan, and loved watching his son, Colm be raised in the game he enjoyed so much and played throughout his life. His love and passion for soccer was shared with Colm. Seeing his youngest son Liam succeed in gymnastics was a source of profound joy and he could always be seen cheering him on, and attending all meets. John’s greatest source of pride came from seeing both of his sons be successful at the sports they loved. John was an avid reader of World War II history, as well any current world events. He could be seen driving around in 'interesting' vehicles and listening to U2 or 80s Rock.
He was preceded in death by his beloved father, William Dady, and oldest brother, Bill Dady. He is survived by his wife, Kristy, and sons Colm, age 14, and Liam age 12, his mother, Charlene Erkins Dady and his close siblings Sharon, Robert, Michael, and Anne, many nieces and nephews, and friends around the world who loved him.
There will be a private service. In lieu of flowers a fund has been set up for John's sons at https://www.youcaring.com/colm-liam-dady-623967
