

John James Reynolds, 88, of Portland, passed away July 20, 2015 at his home. John was born January 14, 1927 to George and Eileen(O’Brien) Reynolds in Eden Prairie, Minnesota and was raised with 6 siblings. They lived in Eden Prairie, until John’s father a railroad telegrapher was transferred to Fort Dodge, Iowa, where their family relocated. John graduated Fort Dodge High School in 1945, and joined the US Army, and served proudly in World War II, and was honorably discharge. John returned to Fort Dodge where he met and married Donna M. Westre, the love of his life, in 1948. Together they raised five children. John was a general contractor (Reyco Construction Inc.), who specialized in providing the highest quality of siding, to both residential and commercial customers. John, was a member of AOPA (Aircraft Owners Pilots Association), being a very skilled pilot who logged many hours in the various airplanes he owned. He also enjoyed all forms of wood working and carving. John was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years; parents; and siblings, Elizabeth, Harry, Tom, George, Eileen, Roseann. He is survived by his children, Jonette, Steve, Tom, Tony, and Teri; and 4 grandchildren. John, was a member of St. Joseph the Worker in SE Portland, Oregon. In lieu of flowers, memorials should be made to charity of choice.
