Joyce Ann Rice

She is survived by her husband Rod Rice of Portland OR; son and daughter-in-law John and Carmen Owen of Portland OR; brother and sister-in-law Gordon and Carol Fowler of Purvis MS; sister and brother-in-law Lynda and Bobby Watts of Biloxi MS; sister Sharon Bounds of Bastrop LA and brother-in-law Claude Ladner of Hammond LA.

Joyce worked for PGE where many of her coworkers thought of her as their mom. When she retired, she received a book filled with pictures of her coworkers and filled with notes of thanking her for her help, friendship, being a mom to them and warm goodbyes. Our family and friends were truly blessed to have such a wonderful and loving person in our lives.

A viewing will be held from 10:00am to 5:00pm on Monday, February 3, 2014 at Bateman Carroll Funeral Home in Gresham, Oregon. A Celebration of Joyce’s Life will be held at 10:30am on Tuesday, February 4, 2014 at Living Hope Baptist Church, 3130 SE 148th Avenue, Portland OR 97236. Interment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery in Gresham, Oregon. You may send flowers or you can send a donation to her church or to the Oregon Humane Society in her name.
