Keith Alan Gran, 65, of Sandy, Oregon, died Saturday, March 21 after a brief illness. He joined his personal Savior, Jesus Christ, and fulfilled the verse from Philippians 1:21 “For to me, living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.”
Keith was born on July 13, 1960, in Gresham, Oregon. He was the second of three children born to Ray and Marilyn Gran. Keith was defined by his faith to Jesus, and serving his church, family and others in need.
He hunted with Tipper, LB and Max, and his human friends as well. He caught fish all over Oregon, Montana, Idaho and beyond. Keith spent his career in the food industry and was passionate about food. He told everyone about his brother-in-law’s wicked skill with seasoning and barbecuing meat. You would be lucky if Keith chose to share some of his special stash of pork, beef or game that had been prepared by Tom.
He was constantly improving his listening skills and if there had been an Olympic sport for talking, he would have earned a gold medal. He honed his skills as the class clown early in life and those who spent time with him were emersed in laughter.
Keith was happiest when all was in order and was quite skilled at keeping things neat and tidy. Keith took it as a high compliment when a visiting paramedic asked if Keith would come to his house and organize his closet. He was at times fondly referred to as Felix.
Keith loved mission work, the beach, snorkeling, sunsets over water, history and finding a short cut that would save him time. He adored his family and said yes when he was called upon. He was a blessing to his sisters, mother and extended family.
Keith is survived by his mother, Marilyn Gran-Archibald, stepfather Roy Archibald, sisters Jeri Jarrett (Shawn Jarrett) and Karen Owen (Tom Owen) and niece Stacy Skinner. Keith was preceded in death by his father Ray Gran.
